SLM Global is saddened to announce that on December 27, 2021,  peacefully, our Brother Dr. John McGeorge (founder of MTEE & SLM and President Emeritus of SLM) went to Heaven to be with our Lord. He will be cremated and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022, 1 PM.

John was born in Richmond, Virginia, to the late John F. McGeorge, Sr. and
Mary Isabelle McGeorge on August 16, 1949. He was one of 7 children, and as
a child he loved to play backyard sports, spend time at the river house, going to
church and reading. He gave his life to Christ in 1978 and thereafter, his
life became instrumental in bringing many others to the Lord. He was smart
beyond his years and was the first in his family to not only graduate from
college but receive two higher-level degrees.

John was a life-long learner and earned two doctorates, one in law and the other in theology. After graduating from Seminary, he met the love of his life, Valerija Radnic, while teaching overseas in Croatia. John established two international missions, Ministry to Eastern Europe (MTEE) and Servant Leadership Ministries (SLM) which focus on the equipping and training of national leaders. He also wrote numerous books and magazine articles, planted dozens of local-church Bible schools on 5 continents, and built strong leadership teams to spread the message of building the Kingdom of God throughout the earth. John and Valerija were missionaries together for many years. In 1995, John and Valerija settled down in Richmond, VA to raise their two wonderful daughters, Hanna and Sara.

In his later years, he enjoyed spending time with his two grandchildren, Raegan and Hudson, and writing books for Bible colleges. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, reading, going to the beach, all things Christmas, and, most of all, spending time with his beloved family. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life's challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, John was our hero and fought strong until the end.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Valerija McGeorge; daughter, Hanna Ellenberger; daughter, Sara McGeorge; sisters Nancy, Kathie, Susan, and Kim; brothers Edward and Todd; stepmother, Ann McGeorge; two grandchildren, Raegan and Hudson Ellenberger; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

John was honored in a celebration of life ceremony at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 8th, 2022, at New Kent Christian Center, 9660 Tunstall Rd., New Kent, VA 23134. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, just prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Servant Leadership Ministries, PO Box 2609, Greenville, NC 27836.

We have started the prayer for Siliguri revival or breakthrough. Prayer starts at 9 am and goes up to 1 PM everyday. Siliguri is second largest city of West Bengal province which have 1 million + population. The main people groups are Bengali, Bihari, Nepali, Marwari, Rajbhansi, Adivasi, Muslims, Punjabis etc. There are few more small groups too. So far, Only Nepali churches are there. Only few hundred Bengali and Bihari converts are found in these Nepali church. Bengali alone has more than half million population where hardly few hundred converts are found. Strong community bounding is one of the major obstacle as many people do not dare to come out of it following Christ. But we are believing for breakthrough and had been in prayer fasting since may 15 2021.

Construction of Udaipur Nepal Church

Picture
Our church construction is going on place name TAPLE which is under Udaipur district of Nepal. This place does not have good roads for transportation. Almost all the materials like cement, sand and rods are carried by porter. It is very hard over there. That is why we could not afford to buy and transport bricks there. Hence the church is being build with plain sheet, rods and cement. We are projecting to build one room and a rest room there so that visiting missionaries have place to rest.

SLM's work in Africa began small in Nigeria; later on we built a training center to train present and future pastors from many nations on a regular basis. Pastors and leaders came from many surrounding nations and from there the work of SLM expanded rapidly.

Since that small beginning, SLM has expanded exponentially into more of west and East Africa. Today, SLM is working in Kenya through our training center which draws Christian leaders from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and other nations. SLM has a training center in Togo as well which draws pastors from Benin, Ghana, Niger and Burkina Faso.

SLM has already laid plans to expand into South Africa and Liberia, West Africa. These centers will also reach many nations as well.

The spiritual hunger is palatable which literally thousands of leaders seeking to be trained through SLM. Soon SLM will be able to offer accredited degrees for those pastors who are required by law to have them if they want to pastor a church.

Africa is now a continent of great growth beyond our imagination and just continues to grow.
