After 24 years in business, Ernie was able to fulfill a life-long dream of attending seminary. He enrolled in Regent University where he received an MA in Biblical Studies and later went on to receive his doctorate in Religious Studies from Trinity Theological Seminary. Shortly thereafter Ernie and his wife Linda, were living in Slovakia and traveling throughout Eastern Europe where Ernie was the primary instructor in the Bible College program with Ministry to Educate and Equip.
After four years on the field, several compelling reasons involving family members led to the decision to return to the States. Upon returning, the Board asked Ernie to serve as president of MTEE, a position he held for 20 years.
After stepping down as president but remaining on the Board of Directors, Ernie was asked to serve as associate pastor at River of Life Community Church where he has served for the last four years. Ernie resigned from the Board of Directors of MTEE in 2020.
